VMI Undergraduate Research Shakespeare Conference 2006-2007

William Shakespeares Comedies, Histories, & Tragedies
Third Conference, November 10-12, 2006

For the third annual conference, our keynote speaker is Dr. David Bevington, professor Emeritus of English at the University of Chicago and editor of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, among many other publications on early drama. Prof. Bevington's address is entitled "Shakespeare Faces Retirement."

Schools taking part this year are Bridgewater College, Christopher Newport University, Hollins University, James Madison University, Roanoke College, Virginia Military Institute, and Washington and Lee University.

Prizewinners for "Best Paper in Session" each received an autographed copy of David Bevington's Shakespeare: The Seven Ages of Human Experience. The prize for "Best Paper in Conference" received an autographed copy of English Renaissance Drama: A Norton Anthology, David Bevington, General Editor. The winners in 2006 are listed below, along with all the other presenters.
