|
The CONDITIONAL tense translates "Would", given a set condition. For example: "In Spain I WOULD DANCE Flamenco". To form the verb, take the entire infinitive (in most cases) and add these endings: ía ías ía (yes, 1st and 3rd persons singular are identical) íamos íais ían There are a handful of irregulars that have irregular stems, such as all the "GO" verbs. You must memorize the irregular stems. Here are a few. Tener--tendr; Hacer--har; Venir--Vendr; Salir--Saldr; Poner--pondr; Decir-- Dir. Thus, TENER in the conditional would be conjugated as follows: Tendría Tendrías Tendría Tendríamos Tendríais Tendrían In the exercise that follows, change the verbs to the CONDITIONAL. |
