| General |
Lexington is located at the intersection of Interstates 81 and 64.
VMI is less than two miles from the interstate.

| Driving |
If you are traveling from the north, south, or east, follow I-81 to exit 191
(which puts you onto I-64). Next, take exit 55 off I-64. Turn left onto
Route 11 south at the stop sign.
If you are traveling from the west, take I-64 to exit 55. Turn right on
Route 11 south at the stop sign.
Once you are on Route 11 south, you will drive through three stoplights.
After the third stoplight, you will cross the Maury River, and bear right
onto Route 11 Business. You will pass a bridge inscribed with the words
"Virginia Military Institute". A few feet after the bridge you will pass a
small access road on the right; pass it and take the following right onto
Letcher Ave. Stay to the right as it bends around to enter VMI. |
| Air |
Fly into Roanoke Regional Airport (ROA). Drive north on I-81 about 50
miles to exit 188B, then take US 60 about 3 miles into Lexington. Turn
right onto Main St., stay in the left lane of the one-way street, and take a
hard left onto Letcher Avenue in a few hundred feet at the point where Main
becomes a two-way street. |
