Miscellaneous: Health economics is an applied microeconomic topic. As such, you will be expected to be able to use microeconomic tools such as utility theory, cost theory, supply and demand models, and production theory that you learned in Microeconomic theory. While some review will be provided, that is what it will be, review! In addition, we will examine issues of health care using statistical and econometric analyses. You will be expected to read the assigned portions of the textbook and the additional articles that will be provided to you. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Dates for the exams are provided in the Tentative Daily Schedule available through my web page. You must be available to take these exams as scheduled. If an exam is missed, with a valid Institute excuse, either a make-up exam will be scheduled or the weight of that exam will be moved to the final exam. An exam missed without a valid excuse will receive a score of zero.
