Dr. Cain is a physical/analytical chemist with intrests in polymer science.
In particular she is intersted in the dymaics of polymer surfactant solutions
and the use of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to characterize
these dynamics. Prior to coming to VMI, Dr. Cain was a National Research
Council Post Doctoral Associate at the Naval Research Laboratories in Washington,
D.C. and studied the mechanical properties of elastomers using liquid and
solid state NMR techinques.
