Civil engineering majors participate in a wide variety of activities outside of the classroom designed to help them prepare for productive careers. One of the activities is ASCE Student Competition.

All CE cadets become members of our ASCE student chapter, and many are elected to membership in Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society.

Frequent field trips provide access to real-world engineering activities, and the department maintains an active program to help students find summer jobs and internships. 

Two newly developed upper-division courses, CE Seminar and CE Professional Practice,concentrate upon developing specific workplace skills and attitudes.
